I have over 20 years of experience as a professional conference interpreter and translator. My customers include Ministries at the federal and state levels, foundations and companies from different sectors. \nI frequently interpret on television and the radio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am a member of the professional associations: Vkd<\/a> and aiic<\/a>that nicely complement each other, with Vkd focusing its work on Germany and aiic following an international approach. To keep up with the latest developments of the profession, I regularly participate in the associations\u2018 specific training and development courses (successful negotiations, improved reading, voice training and speaking like a pro, etc.), and I also act as mentor in the Vkd\u2019s mentoring program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In 1999, I finished my studies at the faculty for \u201eInterpreting, translating and applied linguistics\u201c of the University of the Saarland and graduated with a degree in conference interpreting for German, English and Spanish.\nWhen the German government decided to re-locate from Bonn to Berlin, I also moved to Berlin where I have been working as a private market interpreter and translator for the past 20 years. In 2000, I held a staff position at the Federal Ministry of the Interior for a few months and had the opportunity to gain experience in interpreting at the highest levels. In 2003, I participated in the high-level 2-week training course \u201eCambridge Conference Interpreters Course\u201d in UK. In 2014, 2019 and 2020 I joined the course as one of the course directors.
